Packaging and Pricing

Plants are sold in increments of whole boxes

Boxes contain from 1000 to 1500 plants

Prices are quoted on a per 1000 plant basis

The weight of boxes varies greatly from 14 to 30 kilos

Storage and Accumulated Chilling

Frigo plants are stored at 27 degrees Fahrenheit (-2.4 degrees centigrade)

With ocean shipments, container temperature is maintained at 28 degrees

Air shipments are made at ambient temperatures unless other conditions are requested

Frigo (dormant cold-stored plants) - begin production approximately 6 months after planting

Available out of California from December through June

Available out of Argentina from June through November

Fully dormant (frigo) plants are harvested only after accumulated natural chilling has exceeded 800 hours

Fresh Chilled - begin production approximately 4 months after planting

Available out of California in October & November

Available out of Argentina in April & May

Fresh chilled plants are harvested after accumulated natural chilling exceeds 240 hours

* Plants are sold as bare root cuttings with leaves removed

* Plants are shaken at harvest time to remove soil

* Plants are not washed, some soil residues will always be present

The Ordering & Shipping Process

(Upon receiving your request for plants, the following steps take place in this chronological order)

Verify availability of plants
Solicit a freight quote
Prepare your quote and send it to you via fax
	Confirm or cancel your interest in the order. You must confirm your order to reserve the plants in your name
	Apply for an import permit from your agricultural officials
	Send a faxed copy of your import permit to us as soon as it is available Do not wait to send your import permit Permits quite frequently have errors that require modification to avoid delays in shipment Your import permit should only indicate 'strawberry plants', not each variety to be imported
	Send payment in advance of shipment
Book inland and international freight
Once we receive payment, we ship your plants
Original documents travel with air shipments but are sent directly to you via courier for ocean shipments
Fax to you shipping details and copies of shipping documents for customs clearance. Shipping documents include: Commercial Invoice Packing List Phytosanitary Certificate Certificate of Origin Airway Bill (Air Shipments) or Bill of Lading (Ocean Shipments)
